Gaming performance

We ran the ATI X1800 XT mobile part through our usual system game tests to see how it could compare to the mobile 7800 GTX part. Editors note: the Alienware system has 7800 GTX SLI, not 7900. Our apologies - we'll update the graphs ASAP!

Despite ATI's decent FEAR performance on the desktop, it is a little underperforming here.

Interestingly, the X1800 is able to edge out the NVIDIA mobile cards by the smallest of smidgens.

Despite question marks over ATI's OpenGL performance, it's clear that the X1800 dominates the single cards here by a long way. Pretty impressive stuff.
